Hi guys-
I have this listed locally, but wanted to get it on here as well, since I know many here will appreciate this bass.
What we have here is an old-headstock J from SX in 30" scale, in Lake Placid Blue (well, SX's version, which isn't Fender's but it's quite nice). She's strung with D'Addario Chromes flatwounds. It's a great little bass, very solid feel with a great primary tone. The only thing holding her back, IMO, is the SX jazz pickups. Unplugged it has a great tone and sustain - with the right pups this would be a really great little bass. It does hold its own as-is, especially with the Chromes.
It's in good condition, from my smoke-free / pet-free home studio. Two tiny dings - one on the headstock, one by the bridge pup - are the only flaws.
I'm asking $80 for a local sale. Shipping and associated hassle puts it at $100 shipped, but I'd be glad to price as local for a buyer in the Phoenix area. I'd like to give it a few days to see if I can sell it locally and not mess with shipping.
For size comparison, here's a G&L (34" scale), an SX Gypsy Rose I reworked (32" scale), and this shorty J.
Not looking for trades, unless you've got a high-end P/J pickup set laying about. Also would consider a trade for an Audere or J-Retro preamp.
