Essex SX P Bass - old headstock, Duncan, and many upgrades

Sign in to disble this ad
I have a Black Essex (SX) bass that began as an SPB 57, black with a maple neck. It has been extensively upgraded. In no particular order it has a gold anodized Fender aluminum guard, all new full sized pots and tone cap, Duncan 1/4 pounder pickup, Gotoh style bridge, and the neck has had the frets leveled and polished. It is currently strung with a set of D'Addario Chrome flats.

It is in excellent condition, a couple of very minor nicks in the finish on the edge directly below the bridge. If you add it up, the parts alone for the upgrade cost $240. This would not include the cost of the bass or the fretwork. I'll let it go for $200 plus actual shipping from Dallas. The only trade interests I would have would be a small tube guitar combo amp or head, or possibly higher end pedals. (delay, boost)

There are more pics later in the string, just scroll down. I have done several good deals on TB and have over 250 positivies on ebay as harrytndallas. (No, I'm not a dealer, just a hobbyist with incurable GAS in all my hobbies. )

The only thing I really need in trade is a small tube guitar combo or head. You might run other things by me, but I'm trying to downsize. (It's hard!)

Here are some really bad pics. I'm not a great photographer anyway, but trying to get a black bass inside at night with a flash is tough for me. I've added a couple of other shots in a later post. Scroll down to see them.

Thanks TFF. In my haste to put up pics I just posted the first headstock pic in my file without looking after it was posted. Someone had inquired about what I meant by the old style headstock and I sent that pic to them from work to illustrate the shape. I stored it in the same folder as my new pics on my webhosting site. Here is the right picture.
