Explosive Ibanez FS *Feeler*

Sign in to disble this ad
Many of you may have followed this build thread. My explosive Ibanez.

I quit my band, and my stable of 7 is just collecting dust. I'd rather take a loss, and someone continue to enjoy this wild creation.

I took an ordinary (boring) Ibanez Soundgear bass, and gave it a new rocking life.

The body and neck are the ONLY original parts

Upgrade parts are:
-Tuners: Hipshot Ultralite Y Key Tuners 3/8" (Black)
-Bridge: Hipshot "A" Style Brass Bridge (Black)
-Pickups: EMG P & 35DC
-Onboard Preamp: EMG BQC System
-Battery Box: Dual Flipout, 18Volt
-String Ferrules: Fender Bass (Black)
-Straplocks: Scahller (Black)

Labor Done:

-Filled J pickup cavity, and routed out cavity for 35DC bridge pickup.

-Faux orange binding applied to headstock.

-Body & pickups finished in OSHA approved safety orange.

-Body & pickups painted via stencil in black explosive & rating design. Design was taken from the Emergency Response Guidebook. (Yes, this is NOT a sticker. The design is part of the finish and is covered in clear coat.)

-String-through body holes drilled, and ferrule lips were slightly countersunk to give the body a streamline look.

-18 Volt dual battery box routed.

-Set up by a professional luthier with DR Black Beauties.

-Includes padded gig bag.

This thing looks exactly how it sounds... aggressive! It can handle any genre of music, but I had "Metal" on the brain during fabrication. The highs on this thing are unreal, and could cut through any mix. I favor the large bridge pickup, because unlike most PJ basses, the bridge has a ton of beef. However, if more booty is needed, I just blend in the neck. The neck is super slim for small hands, and the action was made for fast licks or some funky slap. The bridge is set up to where the user can either top load the strings or go through the body. There is a slight finish blem by the input jack where the foam from my guitar stand ate the finish. However, it can't be seen while being played.

This bass is a head turner, and has quality parts to match it's outrageous look. Blow it up at your next gig!!!!

$330 SHIPPED OBO
Trades considered for Gene Simmons Axe or Punisher II basses. (Don't laugh. I actually need it for a legit reason).

It plays awesome too. Plus it's light and great for those with small hands/fingers.

How is this still available???? I saw it right after you posted this and didn't think it would last 5 minutes, especially given your price.

Good luck with the sale.

Pretty cool! I like how the pickup covers blend right in with the design and the color. Wouldn't really work for the music I play but still very nicely done.

Just keep in mind that everything on this bass is custom. Right down to the finish.

Before?

She was originally a 1998 SR300. This was back in the day when they were made in Korea, instead of Indonesia.
