’93 FBass 4 string. Alder body with flame maple top. Ebony board. Neck is a maple / wenge / narra laminate. 34.5” scale, 1.625” at nut. Single coil pickups. Finish is transparent dark blue and I’m pretty sure it is nitrocellulose – you can see obvious “checking” in a few pictures. All original except for the preamp switch that was replaced by George Furlanetto himself about 5 years ago (even let me hang around the shop to watch… pretty cool). “Old-school” 2 band Poplawski preamp. Will ship in a non-original hard shell case with preamp instructions, bridge adjustment instructions, original hang tag and allen keys. Bass is in very good condition with 2 noticeable dings through the finish that are both about 1-2mm in diameter – one at the headstock and one on the “arm rest” of the body as per the photos. Also some finish wear on the sides of the neck where it meets the body and a bit on top of the neck pickup. Frets have been dressed only once and are in excellent shape. Weight is 9.5lbs (measured on a bathroom scale).
I am the original owner of this bass. No issues in terms of sound or playability and a wonderful example of George’s earlier work. I’ve slowly come to the realization that I feel more comfortable on Fender-style basses and this one has seen limited action for the last several years. Time for somebody to give it some love……
C$1900. Although not interested in trades, the phrases “Sadowsky Ultra Vintage NYC” or “Sadowsky Tokyo” often have a kryptonite-like effect on me….. I’m near the west end of the GTA if anybody wants to see in person – PM me.
