Parting ways with my BN6. I bought it new in '03, it has a few blemishes here and there (typical of the older F bass finish), all visible in the photos below. Also has some small finish chips where the neck meets the neck pocket, visible in pics and nothing more than superficial. The neck and fingerboard are in perfect condition, and it is visually stunning!
Plays sounds amazing. Super low action and no buzzes anywhere. This bass also features an upgraded 1 piece body, as opposed to the more common 2 piece. Comes with Hipshot A style Brass, but I'll include the B style aluminum as well if desired. Ships in Levy F bass bag.
right at 10lbs 12oz with the brass A style bridge, less with the aluminum B style.
retails for $4310, asking $2050 shipped in the CONUS
Sorry NO TRADES
here's a couple samples of how it sounds as well... 1 2

My BN6 is one of the most incredible basses I've ever played. And by far the easiest 6 string basses I've played. Mine has a rediculously low setup and sustains for days.

This bass kills. I can't believe it's being sold. |

Jerry, I hear you. The BN6 is about the perfect 6 string bass IMO.. it just doesn't get much better. For my 6 string needs, mostly for solo gigs or small jazz combo work, I'm going more in a "Garrison" type direction tonally, and as much as I love the F, I have to recognize that there is a configuration that supports that goal a little better. My W&T is just about done being built
I know that I'll be strapping back into a fretted F before too long, probably a BN5, and in the meantime, I'm trying to be comfortable with the fact that all good things in life come and go |

I noodled around on my BN6 last night for several hours. I've been playing 4 string basses pretty exclusively for the last year but it never ceases to amaze me at how easy it really is to jump to my BN6 and feel right at home.
George's basses have always seemed so right. I don't know exactly what it is but I always seem to be able to play tricky lines that I struggle with on other basses. It's not just the low action, or the string spacing, or the neck shape or even any of the dozen or so things that might affect the playability. I feel that is a combination of everything that makes the FBasses play so well. And they just sound so big and present as demonstrated so well in your killer clips. Even in the softer passages your BN6 sounded just so right.
Your BN6 is my favorite color too. I just love George's sunbursts. I think that they are the about as pretty as it gets.

F's are way more than the sum of the parts! Quote:

The bass just glows, and has the right amount of fade in all the right places. |
