Okay folks, I had this listed at one time but, unfortunately, chickened out so here it is again, my gorgeous F-Bass Studio 5. This instrument was constructed solely by the great George Furlanetto (the owner of F-Bass,) and sports a killing ebony fingerboard, as well as matching p'up covers (overwound single coils.) The bass fits into a variety of styles, and I've personally used it on latin, fusion, world beat, and pop gigs with nothing but praise from the band, and sound person. I don't have a scale at my apartment, but I'd say this bass hovers somewhere around 10lbs, and balances perfectly; this instrument is really a lifer, and I wish I could keep it.
My reason for selling is that as college is finishing up for me, I need to recuperate some funds to move, etc. And, although, this is my favorite instrument (only second to my ex-Smith,) it's the one that'll bring in the most amount of money.
As stated before this instrument was personally constructed by Mr. Furlanetto, features some gorgeous ebony, as well as a stunning quilted maple top, and the infamous F-Bass preamp, along with George's own overwound single coils. To top it all off, as far as I know, the Studio line is extremely sought after, as only a handful were made. In the interest of full disclosure the bass has two very small dings that occurred during shipping, and a price quote from a local luthier revealed that the cost of repair would be a paltry $200.
For a straight sale, I'd like to get $3,000 obo $2,900 but I may entertain trades, or partials. Unfortunately, I can't add cash to any deal.
The bass will be shipped in a Reunion Blues Continental GB.

Check out that killer top, and ebony, though!

Trust me TB, this bass is ridiculous. Absolutely awesome. It is a VERY light fiver, and a joy to play. I am B string challenged, but even I can play this thing. The asymmetric shape of the neck just makes it feel...well, natural.
The quilt too is very deep. I hate red basses in general, but this is more of a soft dark cherry in person. Mated with the Mac Ebony neck, the swirls just play off each other and are very aesthetically pleasing.
The sound is definitely the strongest part of the bass (well, tied with feel anyway). The preamp is PHENOMENAL. Completely discrete when set flat, but can powerfully change the sound, yet maintain a pleasing tone no matter where you put the dial. As for the overwound pups, ballsy Jazz bass tone for days. I would seriously consider buying these pups and pre for just about any Jazz bass I could think of.
I can go on and on about it, but bottom line, this is a serious bass. A lifer type for those who dislike change
Sorry to see it go J, but it's for a good reason. Just be damn sure you won't miss it too much before it goes out the door. Whoever gets it ain't giving it up anytime soon. |

the finish is VERY elegant. If it was a fourbanger, it's allready be mine.
very deep, rich, pure tone.
sad to see her go.
Nuthin' more important than yer education, indeed a good cause,
Plus, john would sound amazing playing anything.
Give him a daisy Rock with two broken strings, he'll make it sound good.

Lots or trade interest but nothing has caught my eye; I'm not a LEJ fan, so please don't send me trades for them. Otherwise, all PMs responded to. |
