F/S 2 basses - Fender Cowpoke; and Fender Precision with upgrades

Sign in to disble this ad
For sale are two Fenders. I just have too many P-type basses, and love my G&L's to the point that these don't get a lot of play.
Prefer a sale. The only trades I am looking for are a Mesa Diesel 1x15 cab, and maybe a USA Peavey Millennium.

First is a 1995 Fender Precision Special "cowpoke".
MIM Fender active P/J Precision bass
Bass is in very nice condition - some scratches on pickguard, but no other real blemishes to speak of.
Neck is very comfortable. Bass is pretty light. I don't have a reliable way to weigh it but I'd be surprised if it weighs 9 lb. Controls are stacked pickup blend/volume and stacked treble/bass.
$340 plus shipping.

Second up is a heavily upgraded "Fender" P.
1995 MIM Precision body. Mighty Mite jazz neck. Seymour Duncan SPB-3 Quarter-pounder pickups, new pots, jack and wiring all professionally installed. Fender '62 re-issue tort pickguard with plastic still on it. Fender bridge cover and chrome knobs.
Overall nice condition. A few minor scratches and one small ding on the bottom rear edge of the body.
I'd guess the weight at 9 lb. Smooth player, and thunders with the Basslines pickups.
$375 plus shipping.

Does the cowpoke feel similar to an aerodyne in the neck and body?

I can't compare it to an Aerodyne Jazz, but I can compare it to an Aerodyne Precision, since I have one. The neck is very similar. A little wider than than a 1.5 inch jazz neck. It's pretty flat front to back, not "beefy" like some P-basses. The cowpoke has a 22 fret neck. Very comfortable.
The body on the Cowpoke is smaller than the Aerodyne P. When I put them side to side, the upper horn on the cowpoke is a little shorter than the Aerodyne and the lower horn is maybe 2 inches shorter.

All PM's answered.

The P-Bass is sold, through TB but picked up locally.

I wasn't planning on including a case or gigbag with the cowpoke, but we could probably make a deal that would include one. I have a fair amount of interest locally through CL on it. I'll ship it, but a local deal is always easier.
