F.S.- 2010 Lefty Fender Precision American Standard Bass

Sign in to disble this ad
Hey there,

I'm currently selling all off my practically brand new bass rig. I created a rig on a whim of starting a bass project I was involved in for a couple of months. I'm a guitarist/keyboardist primarily and don't need the bass rig anymore.

I am currently selling this 2004 (not 2010) Fender Precision Bass, (made in the U.S.A.!) and yes, it is left handed. It has some nice upgrades from the stock model. I currently have it up on eBay http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...e=STRK:MESE:IT, so you can check out my perfect feedback out there.

The bass has Seymour Duncan SPB-1 vintage pickups along with RS Guitarworks electronics upgrade. Sounds freaking great! It also has a mirror pickguard in which the original white pickguard will be shipped with the bass as well as the hardshell case and original pickups & electronics.

I probably picked it up a total of 5 times, so this bass, while I have to list it as used, it is basically new. No surface scratches, dings, what so ever, it still looks and smells new. Even comes with the original Fender pack (manual, tool kit, etc.) and tags. This is a steal at $825(not including shipping)

Also for sale are: Ampeg 4x10 HLF cab and a Avalon U5 Direct box.

Here are some pics:

There are a few inconsistent details pertaining to this bass. You have advertised it as a new 2010 model but the bass has a 2004 serial number. I see you have the current case for it which was introduced in 2008 but all new American Standards from 2008 on came with torte pickguards with the sunburst finish rather then white. New models also have different tuners, laquered head stocks and are called American Standard rather then the American Series as listed on the tag pictured.

I hope you weren't ripped off when you bought the bass because it is clearly a 2004 model in a post 2008 case. I would think the value of the bass doesn't really change much as it is still an American P-bass in obviously great condition but before anyone sees your add and flames you for misrepresenting the bass, I thought I would let you know.

Good luck with the sale. I have a 2006 lefty p-bass and just love it.

^^^ +1 on that Crabby.

I sent this private text below on 07-26 to the poster, although I never got acknowledgment. But he did sorta fix the info on the eBay listing. I think he didn't know what he had and the erroneous information is not intentional.

"2010 P-Bass
Just wanted to mention that you seem to be misinformed about what bass you have.

The Z4 serial number indicates that the bass is either a 2004 or a 2005.

Also, in 2008 Fender revamped the whole American Standard series. They changed the bridge to a heavier one - which your bass don't have, and they changed the tuning machines to lighter ones, which your bass don't have either. Furthermore, sunburst P-Basses have come with tortoise pickguards since 2008. The white pickguard indicates that the bass is pre-2008.

The case, though, is from a post-2008 bass.

Regards."

Its still a decent deal on a nice bass but the poster does not appear to have addressed any of the issues that we both have brought to his/her attention.

Hey guys,

Actually it was my mix-up, not paying attention to the actual serial number and buying it new. I did contact the shop that I bought it from (strictly just left handed instruments) and did in fact confirm the date and found out that alot of his instruments sit for years before selling (recession + low left handed demand, so he claims). The bass looks new because because basically it is, except it's an 04. I just took it for granted that it was new. I bought it for $1200, that was with a professional setup and he threw in a newer case. I had the upgrades done by my local tech before I even played a single lick on it.

Sorry for the slow response on here. I actually concentrated more on the auctions than anything on here because my whole rig sold off of ebay, so I've been busy answering messages on eBay and boxing things up and shipping that stuff out.

The only thing that didn't sell is this bass! I would have thought that would have been the first thing to sell because it's such a nice looking bass and would be a nice catch for a left hander to get one that is in perfect shape and sounds great, especially with these upgrades.

Thanks crabby for the catch, I really wasn't trying to mislead anyone on here. To lefty007, I wasn't ignoring you, I just gave up on here because I didn't get any bites on here regarding anything out of my whole rig! So, I just basically concentrated on eBay. Like I said, everything sold except the Bass.

The lowest I can go is about $900. I'm not interested in any trades because I'm not really a bassist. I'm a guitarist / keyboardist. I was just using the bass rig for a couple of months because my friend was working on his project and neeeded someone to play bass on it. The project is over, so now I'm unloading the rig.

If anyone is interested I can be reached at grisgrisfunk@bellsouth.net. You would have a better chance of getting a hold of me through my e-mail addy instead of here.

Let me know if anyone is interested, I NEED to find this bass a good home!

Mike

Check out my positive feedback on eBay, I recently got positive feedback on all of my other bass gear that I recently sold. This Fender Bass is the only thing left!

I hear ya! Heck, start saving, it may still be on here for weeks to come. I really thought this would have been the first piece of gear that would have sold first out of all of the gear in my bass rig. Now, this is the only thing left, everything has else has sold.

I really can't go much cheaper than this either, so I may just keep it if it doesn't sell. It is truly a great sounding/playing bass. Give me a shout if you run into some money. I would love to find this bass a good home!
