Selling my beautiful nitro-gold alder/rosewood LG5. Weighing in at a hair over 9lbs, this bass has everything you could want in a 60s style J. Original price when I bought it new from Jimmy 7 months ago was $4500. I'm playing more upright & other electrics now so this great axe is just sitting around. Selling for $3800 shipped to CONUS only (money order, cashier's check or PayPal).
The plus: Bass has been upgraded with string through body option on the E & B strings. The work was done in the Lakland factory and really adds nice punch to those strings (IMO).
The minus: There is a blemish at the bridge where the guide marking was placed and the finish was accidentally removed. I discussed a total refinish to correct the issue with Jimmy who strongly urged against it. I finally agreed with the master, the bass sounds SO good & the mark not very obtrusive, so the blemish remains as a "character mark."
Bass will be shipped in a brand new Sadowsky case.
