This is an amazing bass that sounds like the best 60's jazz bass I've ever played.....
The tone of this bass is unreal and it records like crazy. warm and punchy yet articulate and clear.
I hate to let this bass get away but unfortunately the 19mm spacing in too much for me.

Talk to me. I've got a Sadowsky ash/maple UV70 5 jazz which I love. I'm looking for a 60's type jazz 5 that's quality and toying with the idea of getting an LG 5 Basic at some point. Is yours a Basic or Standard? Is the paint the only difference?

Here is the deal. I have owned tons of basses MTD535s, Foderas, Sadowskys, 1960s Fender Jazzs, Yamahas, Ken Smiths, and everything in between. My favorite bass of all time was a 1961 white Fender Jazz with 3 knobs stock. Should have never sold it but $$$ talks and everything else walks.
I have a LG5 Classic with nitro finish. I would recommend the nitro finish if you are interested in tone and not finish durability. My LG5 is a great sounding bass. It is vintage but not spot on Fender Slab Board tone....but it is close. My Sadowsky produced a vintage tone until I got this bass and now it sounds modern. I prefer the sadowsky if I am playing a straight forward funk or slap gig. I prefer my AC for just about everything else. My Sadowsky NYC Standard 5 with quilt top is a beast and cuts through the mix so well. Haven't played this one live yet, but I am sure it will kill. I love the passive and active tone on the LG5. The rosewood board is silky smooth and not brittle or harsh like most modern rosewood.
I would rate my AC as a 9.92 and my Sadowsky as a 9.75 because no bass is perfect except maybe that 61 jazz. I am a hard person when it comes to grading. I have just found that the Fender Jazz sound is one that fits my playing stlye the best. The tone I am looking for and of the Jazz style basses I would rate my top 5 as
1. Alleva Coppolo
2. Sadowsky NYC
3 Mike Lull
4. Nordy 5
5. Fender Custom Shop
Let me know if you have any specific questions. The Standard has a poly finish while the Classic is nitro. Nitro breaths alot better. LG Classic Supreme features a Brazillian Rosewood Board.
