OK – I really don’t want to do this, but since I have too many basses and I haven’t done much with this one lately, I can’t justify keeping her (been using my Pedullas more so). I bought this new from Carvin in 97 (paid over $1200, plus upgrades – see below):
LB75
Mahogany body wings & mahogany neck (looks to be 2 piece)
Ebony finger board with abalone block inlays
Rounded by sides
Tung oil finish on neck - smooth & fast
Flame maple top (blue burst)
• I have changed the Carvin pre to an Audere 3-band with Z-mode (this really woke the bass up) & changed the stock pickups (many times) to Nordstrands (I can put Bart deep tone in the bass instead) – the bass sizzles with this combo! The original pre & pickups were very bland. I believe the Nordy’s were ment for 19mm spacing, and this bass is 17.5, which means if you really bend the G-string, you will lose some volume (one of the songs I’ll be linking, 1692, I am bending on the G-string during the bass solo – you probably won’t even pick it up).
Comes with the OHSC
Frets are in very good condition and so is the rest of the bass (I have babied this since day one, and the only mark I could find, other than some swirling from polish, is one penpoint sized ding on the rounded part at the arm rest – wouldn’t even show up in a pic).
If you never played a Carvin, you’ll find the action very fast and the construction top notch, and thanks to the upgrades in the pre and p/u’s, it sounds incredible.
I am in no rush to sell this and am not looking for any trades (
maybe a Genz Shuttle MAX 12 – maybe - just got one

).
Later on I will post some links to songs I did so you can hear how she sounds.
$850 shipped CONUSA.
I'll post the links later today (pics & audio)
