F/S: CIJ 62 Reissue Jazz - Oly White

Sign in to disble this ad
I have for sale a beautiful Crafted in Japan (CIJ) 62 Reissue Jazz, Alder, Oly White (very creamy in person). Pictures do not do her justice! According to the s/n, it's a 99-2002 model.

Purchased from GUITARGUI (eBay) about 4 - 5 years ago and was described as the non-export US Model. It has been and is one of my favorite Jazz Basses out of some very nice ones I have and have owned. Simply selling due to chronic neck / shoulder issues (pain) that has plauged me the past two years and can only play my lightweight basses now. She is not a heavy weight but weights in at 9.6 lbs. I'm am big OLy White fan and consider her my most beautiful bass.

This bass has a very creamy Oly White color, beautiful dark rosewood fretboard and a wonderful neck that's smooth, fast and is setup almost flat w/o buzzing, as I play w/ a light touch. Truss Rod / TR adjustment works perfectly! It's really a very nice neck! The bass is in very good condition but does have some dings along the bottom side of the body. I tried to show them in the pics.

I replace the stock US 62 RI pickups w/ Nordstrand NJ4 SC'c. I replaced the original control plate w/ a stacked Vol-tone control plate like the American models. I used Fender original parts (CTS pots, vintage cloth wiring, knobs). The control plate was wired per the Fender 62 RI Jazz Bass specifications. I replaced the orginal Tort PG w/ a Fender Original 62 RI Tort PG simily because I like the Tort color on this one much better against the creamy OLy Wht color. I did need to trim the PG at the control plate and it's not perfect but it looks pretty good. It can be seen in the pic provided. I also replaced the original ground strap leading from the bridge pickup to the bridge. I managed to bend it when replacing the pickups and did not like the look of it afterwards....so I replaced it! The 62 RI Vintage bridge and Gotoh large tuners are original.

It comes w/ a Road Runner Soft Shell Case (it's a case, not a gig bag) that's in very good condition.

$650 Firm shipped via FedEx and insured, PayPal, CONUS only.
Note: Low ball offers will be ignored!

Local sale $600 Firm!

Trade interest,
- Avatar B210 + cash; 8 ohm, black carpet, metal grill.
- possible Genz Benz Shuttle 9.0 (thinking about a 2nd 9.0)

Hey Frank! Boy we have the same taste in basses -- I just love this piece. I've purchased from GuitarGai before -- a little pricey, but I am always happy.

You still have that Sadowsky? I nearly pulled the trigger on a Will Lee this morning, but the seller came to his senses and kept it!

Hi Mike, it's good to hear from you! It's really a nice bass and gorgeous in person! The color is truly sweet! If it wasn't for my chronic neck/ shoulder issues and needing some gear, I wouldn't be selling her and selling her at this price!

I still have your ole' RV4! I'll get very hungry before I sell her! It's a great bass! I hope you enjoying the RV4 you recently picked up!
