This is a great bass for someone wanting a Wishbass, but doesn't have the time or skills to do a refin. Ready to play, sounds great and plays sweet, too.

I should probably add that I will be shipping this with a Roadrunner gigbag. Anyone that wants a Wishbass but doesn't have the means or the tools to refinish, THIS is the bass for you!!
Steve didn't make very many of this model. Kinda rare.

I love those refinished wishbasses and this one is really eye catcher! Love that end of fretboard / bass clef, looks amazing...
Unfortunately no $$ makes me just drool :-(

The bass clef at the end of the fingerboard was done as part of the finishing. When I received this bass, the fingerboard extended almost the whole way to the bridge. In order to fit 2 pickups in there, I removed about 3 inches of fingerboard and did the inlay. The dots of the clef are real abalone shell from the beaches of the OBX.

What is the scale length, are there any position markers on the side, and does this bass have a truss rod?

34" scale. Yes, there are position markers. I installed them, not Steve. I only went as high as the 12th fret(?) because of the body shape, but provided you have the bridge in the correct spot, they are all accurate. No truss rod, and none needed. If you're familiar with Wishbasses, then you know that these necks don't move. Very solid.

Well, the whole bass is walnut and purpleheart, with a purpleheart core. Surprisingly, it weighs in at right around 10 lbs. Unfortunately, after several back surgeries in the last year, that kind of weight in non-negotiable to my back at this point, so she's gotta go. Wanna see her getting played instead of sitting in a gigbag (included in sale).

Say Rip ... One thing I think would help is better photos. I mean no disrespect, but your photos (IMHO) are not doing enough to show off your work. The quickest way to get better results is to just shoot outside in either early morning or end of the day light - the flash is a killer (no direct sunlight either). Also, use a tripod or even a broomstick (or anything) to hold the camera steady. I think you will be surprised at the difference.

Hope it sells soon!

Thanks 49. Never offended, brother. I have been meaning to get some better pix up of her, but with recent events I haven't really been able to. I'll see how I feel tomorrow and maybe get the camera out.

Moose: feel free to drop by this thread if you have questions. I monitor it pretty closely, and any questions I can answer here just helps describe how cool this bass really is.

Some better pix.

As I said, the wire is a ground that I have soldered to the volume knob, and wrap around to the strings. Grounding a Corian bridge is impossible, so this is what I came up with, completely reversible if you decide not to use it.
