F/S David King D-Bass Custom

I have owned this bass for the past two years and while I love it, I always seem to go for my Fender style basses.

Here are the specs:

34" Scale
Bartolini Pickups and Electronics, Sperzel tuners
5 Piece Maple/Ebony/Purpleheart (?) neck.
Flamed Maple body with Matching headstock, an unusual feature for a DK bass.

Here are the pics:

When I received the bass, it seemed to have a hairline crack on the neck. I recall posting a thread about it here at the time. Since I live in CA, I contacted David King and sent the bass to him so he could look it over. He reinforced the area and it is very solid.

Includes Hardshell Case. Asking $2,300.00 Shipped. Add $50.00 for Canada.

Thanks.

Whoa! A David King is rare enough in the for sale section around here (first one I recall seeing), but a headstock to boot!? That's ridiculously scarce.

These are wonderful instruments.

Wonderful indeed. I have #15, a 5 string fretless and aside from sounding great, it's the most comfortable bass I've ever played. This is a steal.

Any idea of the fret size? They look close to jumbo in the pics.

Love the body contours on that bass. The sweep is just lovely.

Very rare to see one at all, never mind being up for sale.

I think they are jumbo frets. I'm not an expert, though, so I'm not 100% sure.

Thank you all for the positive comments.

They're not just pretty, David makes some of the most ergonomic basses out there. Mine has a similar body shape and it's easy to play for hours.
