F/S F/T 1984 Fender American precision bass vintage white

Sign in to disble this ad
Mint Condition 1984 Made in America Precision Bass with wide (pancake neck) and Antique White color, maple neck and fretboard. Finish is perfect and neck is perfect also. Set up for playing by local guitar tech. This bass has deep rich tone due to the large thin wide neck (called a pancake neck) and heavy body. This is a real funk machine and gets the warm sound that to me sounds fatter and warmer today's lighter thinner models of MIA p basses. A real warm deep sound and very clear with great original pickups. Very rare made only a few years with this neck, body, color configuration in the early 1980's. Bass weighs 10.5 lbs and serial number is E3159XX. I am asking $1400 for this bass.

here is a link with pics thanks to brother dave

As for trades I am looking for the following 4 string basses primarily

1. Music man sterling with maple neck or rays... especially hh models or h-j

Thanks for looking.

How wide is the "pancake" neck at the nut?

Surly, I believe it is an "A" neck which would be 1.5 inches but.... I just measured the neck at the nut... I got 1 and 5/8 inches using the trusty tape measure (from the top to the bottom of the nut). I will ask my tech if he knows. So its 1.5 inches from the mid of the E to the mid G and 1.625 end to end at the nut. I hope that helps.
