F/S - F/T: 2000 MIA Jazz Deluxe

Sign in to disble this ad
I picked up this Fender American Active Jazz Deluxe in a local trade a few years ago. it's a very high quality bass in every aspect (straight neck, tight pocket, shiny finish, solid hardware, etc) and it plays/sounds great. very comfortable neck. here are some specs off the Friend:
  • Select alder body
  • Graphite-reinforced maple neck with modern C shape and a satin polyurethane finish
  • Rosewood fingerboard
  • 9-1/2" radius
  • 22 medium-jumbo frets
  • Chrome-plated hardware
  • Deluxe bridge that allows either string-thru or top loading
  • Chromeplated brass bridge saddles
  • Lite-Bass tuners with vintage cloverleaf keys

Bass is Active Only (no Passive switch).

More pics available here.

I swapped out the preamp with an Audere last year, which did wonders for the tone IMO. It's the V-V- Treb/Bass-Tone version with 3-Z switch. I will included the original pre with sale (Master Vol-Pan-Bass/Treb-Mid). Comes with molded Fender plastic case in good shape. Also comes with Truss rod wrench.

if you browse to my Picasa album, you will see the outside pics of the bass with the original preamp. inside pics are of Audere and are rather dark. I can get some better outside pics if interested.

There are a couple dings on the bass which are visible in the pics with a nickel to show scale. tiny dent on the back of the neck around the 4th fret and a larger ding in the finish by the jack where someone apparently dropped it. both were there when i received it and both are insignificant in the grand scheme. i wouldn't be selling if i didn't have my eye on another G&L.

Outright Sale Terms
I estimate the value of the bass at around $1,200-$1,300 with the new Pre, but would let it go for an even $900 shipped to Continental US.

Trades
No trades, as i am in the process of paying for a new (to me) bass.

thanks for looking! will update with missing info as needed.

I've got this same bass. Plays great. Wish I had the money to swap the preamp as you have.

You should use the second pic as your avatar since you can see yourself in it.
