F/S F/T: 2009 Bongo Music Man 5 string stealth black *updated pricing

Sign in to disble this ad
SOLD SOLD SOLD

Selling a Bongo Music Man bass 5 string in stealth black. Will be mostly interested in selling but also trades will be considered.

Price?
$1,000 including shipping to lower 48 states.

What's included?
Bongo bass 5 string
Music Man Bongo hardcase
Extras that were included when new, like MM cards, etc.

Details?
I bought this bass new from The Perfect Bass early this year with the intent to learn 5 string bass. After using it for a few times I decided to stick with 4 strings. The bass has been resting in my room since then, just haven't had time to play either instrument.

The bass is a stealth black which is a matte finish, honestly this is the best IMHO color to reduce the toilet bowl effect of the body. I was never a fan of Bongos until I heard them then saw the stealth black.

The bass does have three paint chips and a very shallow dent on the neck. I'm not sure how these got here but I do know the paint is extremely fragile so be aware this will not hold up well to a professional musician, or if you like relic gear this will be great!

The dent is near the 6th fret, it's very shallow and can't only feel if I run my finger tips over it. I have taken pictures of the chips and should not affect any playability at all.

I really like this bass, it's slightly heavy but well balanced. The eq allows a wide variety of tones and has a 18v active system for nice power. I haven't played many basses but the quality of this bass is impressive, I like it.

The downsides I can think of is that the body looks like a toilet bowl, especially if you change the pick guard. Also the bass doesn't fit well if you play sitting down. I play at my desk and it wasn't as easy to hold as a Pbass.

Price?
$1,000 including shipping to lower 48 states

Payment?
Prefer Pay-Pal or cash if local, also money order but will need to have it clear before shipping. It sucks but there's so many fake money orders flying around.

Questions?

I prefer communication via PM just incase there are multiple buyers/traders.

Trades?

I'm hoping to sell it but if you have a clean Fender American Standard Precision bass 4 string, or a Stingray in 4 string that would be seriously considered.

Pics?

Thanks!

I lowered the pricing to match the market, didn't think of that in the first place. D'oh!

Yes, I was thinking of painting my toilet seat black to match the bass.

I'm really looking for an American standard Precision 4, or a Stingray 4.

If anyone here is thinking about buying this bass but is a little unsure about the whole "Bongo thing", send me a PM.

I have a Bongo exactly like this one and can give you chapter & verse about it.

Long story short: This bass kicks MUCH a$$!

Wish this was really a 4 string...

I have an 08 American Standard P-bass.

Whats the exact weight and scale length on this? (I suffer from problems in my left shoulder from a car accident)

When I get home I'll measure the weight but from the MM site it's "9 lbs, 4 oz (4.20 kg) - varies slightly". I have a Ibanez ATK700 and this bass is lighter.

Scale is 34", but the low B doesn't feel very loose as on other 34" basses.
