F/S Hamer 2tek Cruise Bass fretless 5 string USA

Sign in to disble this ad
This is a beautiful 5 string Hamer Fretless 2tek Cruise Bass, made in the USA. This is one of the most underrated basses of it's era. It sports the Seymour Duncan Basslines active pickups and lined ebony fretboard with asymmetrical neck . This is one of those "I hate to let it go" pieces. This one is not too heavy with an educated guess between 9 and 10 pounds. The only flaw is a couple of nicks on the back near the output jack. Check out the bass on the song Heaven's Little Secret at www.myspace.com/musicbytonydrake.
Generic hard shell case is included.

Asking $549 + $35 shipping in the US by postal money order.

I like it. I like it a lot. I could play those BTBAM songs I've always wanted to play...

Any pictures of the heel? Contoured at all?

Is the lower horn cut deep enough to access all the frets?

How comfortable is it to play past the 15th fret?

EDIT: Sorry bro, I can't buy this... I already made a commitment to buy someone else's fretless... Good luck with the sale though. It's a very pretty bass.

I have the same bass (but in MK Blond, not vintage white) and I love it to pieces. If I could afford to, I would buy this one just to hoard it in case anything ever happens to my first one. Whoever buys it will love it!

My only trade consideration for this would be a Lakland rosewood DJ4, but then I would have to sell my Jaguar outright.

I'm pretty sure I already know the answer, but what is the string spacing at the bridge?

I actually don't know. Not as wide as a Fender, but not as narrow as, let's say, a Warwick. Musicman comparable?

I might have to snag this. How many fret positions is it, and what is the scale length?

FWIW, the bridge string spacing is 17 mm.

Totally good price too! I paid more than that for mine.

I prefer wider spacing, but it's not crucial on a fretless...I'm mulling this one over. I'm concerned about the weight.

What are the electronics? Active or passive? Does it have the Basslines Fundamental Fretless system?
