I hate to do it but I must sell my Smith. This was built 1/14/98. It has a Macassar top and walnut back with maple in the center. And I believe ebony FB. 9V pre. There is just normal wear for a 12 yr old bass. Plays really nice and the neck is fast. The case is in good shape but one nail is loose on the handle bracket.
I would like $2500 plus shipping conus only Absolutely no trade offer please.

I love the look of that, the woods all work beautifully together and the flame centerblock against the dark facings is most killer.

I do believe that's my old bass...I had it refretted by Carey Nordstrand, with dots added to the board. Great bass, but HEAVY due to the ebony. If it's not my old bass, then it is a twin sister!

Any interest in a trade for it back??

When, what year did you sell this bass? The reason I ask is I owned it for many years before selling it to Peter. It was a custom order through Ken. I guess in the interest of accuracy I'd like to know also. Thanks.

1.5" at the nut. I have no way to weight it. But I have a real bad back and have had surgery and it doesn't seem too heavy but I weight 217#. Maybe Dr Funk or Jacochops will chime in. To me it seems about the same as my USA 60th Diamond Anniversary Jazz.

This is a medium weight Smith 4. I mean look at the woods utilized. I never cared enough to weigh it as it never was an issue with my old back. It's heavier than your 60th for sure and that one is 8.5. I can speculate the weight but that's all it would be, speculation, so I won't post it. I thought I had a scan of the build sheet but I can't find it.
