Up for sale is my Nordy VJ5 Modern. #218. This was one of the 2010 Namm Basses. The specs are... - vJ5 Modern 34.5" scale
- Alder Body
- Quilted Maple Top (upgrade)
- Brazilian Rosewood Board (upgrade)
- A hint of Birdseye on back of neck and front of headstock
- Abalone markers (top and side)
- Amber Tint
- Nordstrand Big Singles (60's position)
- Nordstrand 2 band Preamp with Passive tone
- Controls Volume,volume,passive tone, bass/treble
- push/pull for active/passive
- weighs 9lbs on my digital BR scale
- Reunion Blues GigBag
This bass really, really, really sounds incredible. Big, Fat, Full, Even and Clear. Its the most "vintage" sounding of my 5 Vj5's. It has a low mid growl that reminds me of a 60's jazz. In passive mode it totally kills. In active mode it starts to sound more on the thick, more modern side. The 2 band is soooo versatile. The treble gives you a flexability unlike any Ive ever used. The action on this like any Nordy. Super low, perfect frets, perfect action.
I only got this last week and I gigged it a couple nights and got so many compliments on the looks and the tone. But...this weekend my wife and I took a big step and we purchased and new Home Lot here in New Orleans and I must come up with a ton o' cash for the down payment. Not the greatest of timing (bass wise) but this was my most recent purchase and Im gonna need to cash out. I really wish I didnt have to, but my wife is SO supportive of my GAS and relentless buying of gear and she wants this Lot, so...shes gonna get it.
There are 2 imperfections. there is a small nick on the back of the body. Into the clear coat (pictured) and (during shipping) the zipper made lil indentations at the tip of the headstock. It almost looks like grain. but its not. I will take necessary precautions to not let this happen again . Thats it. otherwise, perfect. Carey told me this bass listed for over $3700 with the upgrades. Its an incredible instrument. SOLD

Good luck with the sale! That's a BEAST and Robert's a rad dude to deal with!

Gosh darn you!!! Why do you have to make it so tempting? I have spent WAAAAY too much on basses and amplification gear in the past two months and I would like to keep both of my little orbs intact!!! |
