F/S Nordy VJ5 Modern Quilt Top Brazilian R/W 2010 NAMM UNREAL !!! *****

Okay, I have been wrestling with whether to sell this or not, & B/C of other purchases I am letting this go knowing I will regret it later!

Nordy VJ5 Modern. #218. This was one of the 2010 Namm Basses. The specs are...
VJ5 Modern 34.5" scale
Alder Body
Exhibition Grade Quilted Maple Top (upgrade)
Brazilian Rosewood Board (upgrade)

Birdseye on back of neck and front of headstock
Abalone markers (top and side)
Amber Tint
Nordstrand Big Singles
Nordstrand 2 band Preamp with Passive tone

Controls Volume,volume,passive tone, bass/treble
push/pull for active/passive
weighs 9lbs on my digital BR scale

This bass really, really, really sounds incredible. Big, Fat, Full, Even and Clear. Its the most "vintage" sounding of my 5 Vj5's. It has a low mid growl that reminds me of a 60's jazz. In passive mode it totally kills. In active mode it starts to sound more on the thick, more modern side. The 2 band is soooo versatile. The treble gives you a flexability unlike any Ive ever used. The action on this like any Nordy. Super low, perfect frets, perfect action.

There are 2 MINOR imperfections. there is a tiny nick on the back of the body. Into the clear coat and (during shipping) the zipper made lil indentations at the tip of the headstock. It almost looks like grain. but its not. I will take necessary precautions to not let this happen again . Thats it. otherwise, perfect. Carey says this bass listed for nearly $4000 with the upgrades. Its an incredible instrument.

Bass plays like butter, low action, frets are great, neck true, balances perfectly. The neck is a delight, one of the most comfortable jazz necks out there. The pickguard has slap scratches and swirlies on it. The only cosmetic issues on the bass are a small ding on the back and 2 small marks at upper bout edge that are in the finish laquer only. This is not in the wood.

I will include the Tort & Clear PG, Both Look Awesome!

$2495, not interested in trades, but if you have a Sadowsky NYC 5 you are looking to swap...

Congrats on the new Nordy! I'm still loving mine. One of the most comfortable necks in the biz.
