For your consideration is a Peavey Cirrus 5.
Asking for $900 + shipping.
I've had this bass since 2002. It was my first 5 string and I never really warmed up to it - I just prefer 4 strings. I decided a might still play it so I kept it around - mostly because it was so beautiful. At one point I put gold strings on it because I thought it would look cool, but the strings are terrible. I have a new set of Peavey Cirrus strings that I'll include free with the sale because you will not want to use what I have on them now.
You'll see from the pics that one of the black knobs is missing. I have it, I just don't have the tiny black screw to secure it. I haven't looked into buying one of these but I assume they aren't hard to find.
I have the original case and manual. There are some scuff marks on the case, but nothing drastic.
Feel free to ask questions and I can provide additional pics upon request.

| | | | I guess I should have done a little research before pricing it. My bad. |

| | | | On second thought, I did a little research and adjusted the price - sorry. Hopefully it's still a good deal. |

| | | | I believe the top is bubinga and the back is either maple or alder (not sure).
It has a pau ferro fretboard. |

It has a pau ferro fretboard. | Looks like a Redwood top and maple back with Purple Heart stringers.

By the way, I could be wrong, but that top really looks like redwood. Redwood had the high gloss finish, bubinga had tung oil.

| | | | Hey guys, I can't be sure what the top actually is. If you guys think it's redwood, then it probably is. I did some research to find pics of something close and redwood never came up.
It's definitely a high gloss finish. |

It's definitely a high gloss finish. | Here is a pic of a Redwood topped Cirrus.

| | | | That could be it (redwood that is). Mine definitely has the thin horizontal grain, but unlike the pic above that has a lot of vertical grain (bottom of the bass to top), mine is more on angles and more organic.
But it could just be the natural difference in wood. The pic above has the light colored backing wood that mine has, so I think redwood is a safe bet. Is there significant difference in tone between redwood and bubinga that a buyer would really care about? I ask this with genuine interest, not being sarcastic in any way. |

IMO wood does not contribute to tonal differences.

(same body wood with bubinga top) The basses did sound different, although you could easily tell they were related. They both were killer basses. The redwood model I had was one of the best looking tops I ever owned. This one here is a beauty as well.

| | Totally into Geddy Lee & Mark King ! | | Join Date: Apr 2007 Location: Sonoma County, California ! | | | I had the same bass years ago but it was a 4 banger.
It is indeed a redwood top, alder body, maple neck with purple heart stringers.
These basses are the "warmest" of the Cirrus line due to the soft redwood. Maybe the prettiest, too.
