F/S - Roscoe LG2005 fretted bass

I played an ARIA for several years before a friend suggested trying a Roscoe. We looked around and found this gem on TB
http://www.talkbass.com/forum/f126/f...2005-a-881689/

CrashClint and I agreed on terms, and JOME77 gave it a slick set-up job. Never knew it was possible for a bass play so well. I was hooked.

Since then I’ve brought two additional Roscoe SKB3006s home (one fretted and one fretless) and this one just doesn’t get the play time it deserves. So, I should try to find this one a new home where it can be played and appreciated. Don’t really want to part with it, but I’d much rather someone get the enjoyment of playing it rather than it just staying in its case.

From what Gard told me, this one was born in 1998 or 1999 (couldn’t get a specific date). A truss rod problem came up a couple of years ago so Keith and company gave it a complete new neck!!! I’ve also added a brand new Bart 3-band preamp and a new hard case (both within the last six months). It plays great!

The bass is set-up with super low buzz free action, and the Bassline P/U’s really sound great with the Bart 3-band preamp. Very PHAT sounding tone.

The top is a very special quilted maple and overall the bass is in great condition. There is some rash on the back (not obvious in the pictures), and one small chip (about the size of a BB) on the upper part of the top where your arm goes across (almost have to know it’s there before you can find it). There is some wear that you can see if you look very hard on the top of the body and on the upper corner of the horn (so slight you may not even be able to see them in the pics).

In my opinion, it’s still a great bass.

Here are some specifics:
- Roscoe LG2005, this is the flat top model (not carved like the 3005)
- Exhibition Quilt Maple top (serious quilting in this top!)
- Cocobolo/Spalt/Sapwood finger board
- Northern Ash Body
- All black hardware
- Basslines SB P/U’s
- Bart 3 band preamp w/3 pos. mid switch (New, 9V)
- Black Gotoh Tuners
- Hipshot type "A" Bridge
- Scale 35"
- Roscoe OHSC (New)
- String Spacing - 18.3mm
- Nut width (overall) - 1.75"
- Weight 9.4 lbs

Price: $1,750, Shipped to 48 States

Sorry, but with two other Roscoe’s in the house I’m not really interested in trades.

Thanks for looking and here are some pic’s

Thanks Joe, It's an awesome instrument.

With a new neck and a new Bart pre-amp, it's got lots of music inside for someone to let out

All PMs answered

A trade would still leave me with more instruments than I can play regularly, which is the only reason I'm thinking of parting with this one.

This is a quality instrument. It needs someone to let the music out.

Bump ttt

judging from the neckwood and body shape its an LG Standard plus. Great options added to this bass. Bump

Yes, Keith/Gard and friends installed a complete new neck about a year and a half ago. The walnut shim (I believe it's walnut) under the top really "pops" when you get up close and personal. Plays great!!!

Except this bass was built before Roscoe offered the CS models. It also has a gloss finish and Hip Shot Type A bridge where as the CS models are only available in satin have the Hip Shot Type B bridge.

TGIF BUMP

Thanks, it's a great bass. $1,750 for a Roscoe five string that has these upgrades is a great deal.

Good luck with your sale.

Bump for a great sounding and playing bass. I wish we could work a deal! :)

Going - - - Going

This one is a real keeper.

New (complete) current production neck,
New Bart 3-Band PreAmp
Hipshot bridge
Baseline P/U's
New hardcase

Plays like a dream, a great set-up job. Really PHAT sound that cuts through in a mix.

The only thing that hasn't been replaced and/or upgraded is the body. Lot's of interest but no takers.

Will leave it "on the board" for now, but thinking seriously about keeping it.

If you're interested, let me know soon.
