F.S. Schecter California Custom J 4. EMG Pickups & Pre... Dirt Cheap!!

Sign in to disble this ad
Hey guys!
Up for sale is my really nice Schecter California Custom J 4.

It features real EMG Jazz pickups and a 9 v. EMG 2 band preamp. Hipshot (style?) bridge and tuners. Alder body and a nice quilted top. It sounds great, low action and feels great, but I have too many basses and I need to downsize.

Asking $375 shipped . I think this is a great deal considering that these basses sold for $1000+. Will consider trades for basses or amps, will add lots of cash for the right deal

Feel free to ask any questions and thanks for looking!

Unfortunately in my crippled state all I have to offer is an R-bass, and that would be silly...must be these pain killing narcotics talking :-)

Bump for a sweet bass and an AWESOME guy!

Nope.
I think the Californee series were made in Korea and set up in Californee or something like that. There's no serial number or any kind of stamp anywhere in the bass.

than why let it go ;-)

Man....wish you were closer to try it out. I have a Peavey Zodiac DE and a schecter 004, otherwise don't have much left for trades. Maybe a Fender Aerodyne non import jazz but I really want to keep that one.

Because I have several customs and play 5 stringers most of the time.
This is a great bass for the money, low action and sounds killer!

Neck

How would you describe the neck? Thin? Thick?

Also, I think the "2" stamped at the base of the fingerboard marks it as a "factory second" which were sold originally for a really reduced price. Could've been because of a finish blem or something like that.

Beautiful Bass -

Thorrr....you're probably right about the '2' on the bottom of the board. It's usually a minor finish flaw. I have had 3 different Schecter 2nd's and they have all been great. No noticeable issue.

Great great bass. Love to try it but I'll have to pass myself. Must show some restraint (easy to do when I open my bank account :-)

The neck feels like a Jazz, not thick at all!!

I checked and re-checked the bass and couldn't find any "seconds" on it. It sounds and plays great!

Who ever paid $1000 for one of these they got seriously ripped off. When they hit the market new in 2004 they carried a street tag of $549.

OK guys.
Read the rules, I can ask whatever I want for this bass. If you think the price is too high make me an offer. I personally think that a bass this caliber is worth more than my asking price. If you have something negative to say please contact me thru a PM, don't troll my thread.
Fudge, if I don't sell the bass in one month I will destroy it onstage, record it and upload it on youtube.
