Up for sale is a legi Tobias Basic bass pregibson,in excellent condition,serial number dates to 88-89 according to Mike Tobias himself, due to the back orders time or before Mike Tobias sold to Gibson.Either way is a legi one when Mike ran the show still,This is a blackened color personally made by Mike Tobias,These basses were the most sought basses back then and still are.all original except by a non Tobias hardshell case but in great shape.anyone interested please ask me for more pictures.Asking $3500 or best offer!

As you probably already know these basses are keepers,never come for sale and truly are collector's dream,and when they do people grab them right away,some history behind these wondeful basses is that several hundreds people late 80's and early 90's their dream didn't come true and some orders were backed up and many people just settled after Gibson took over completely in 92.I will list it on Ebay in a couple days but I know that in this forum will be some interest and would like to keep it not only for enjoyment but also collecting reasons for what I have read about.Thanks for inquiring and this beauty will find a new home soon.I will accept Paypal only and will ship it inmediately the next business day once payment is cleared.Thanks! |

| | | | Adding some info when speaking on the phone with Mike Tobias about it he said that
records dates bass built 22 years ago,maple body,6 strings,and in fact was originally painted on jet black coat,he said this precisely that NO piece was never intented to be painted in order to cover any flaws on the wood or for any reason whatsoever,and Also basses made under his time and after Gibson took over before leaving in Dec 92 were extremely quality pieces in every model made and handled with the most care. |

Unfortunately I couldn't make an offer...and it may or may not have an extra string for my taste. |
