Ok I am relisting this one because it is now for sale. I have my eye on a couple things and a couple nice trade interests but I also have my eye on one of the Classic Sterlings...so...

This is a great bass, I just can't handle the neck. It weighs in under 10 pounds on my bathroom scale. I did a bunch of work on it, including a shielding job and a rewire of the electronics cavity which lowered the noise and made the tone control usable. The bass sings and is thunderous as hell with lots of balls and lots of nasty Ric goodness! You can see the work in progress here.

Comes with a fancy silver Ric case which is in great shape.

Here are some pics I have of it:

I'm looking to get 1600.00 OBO offer on it.

Trade interests are still there. Basses by Musicman, Lakland, G&L, Zon, Modulus, certain Warwick's etc.. Run some trades by me, but I'd really love a sale on this. Feel free to PM me with any questions or offers.

Thanks!

Dan

Alright so here are a couple clips for people to get an idea of what this bass sounds like. The recording doesn't capture the top end of this bass though. It's quite a bit more lively in person

The first clip goes like this:

Both pickups on with pick
Bridge pickup on with pick
Bridge pickup fingerstyle
both pickups fingerstyle.

The second clip goes like this is all fingerstyle with the bridge solo'd.

Rickenbacker w/ Darkstars

I didn't have time to record everything, but personally I find these two settings the most useful. I'm not a huge fan of the neck pickup solo'd. Then again I'm not a huge P bass fan. If you really want I can try to record a track with the neck solo'd.

Once again, any questions feel free to ask.

Thanks

Dan

Worth a shot. I'm not too much into the feel of rics but I'd like to try the DS p'ups. Out of curiosity how much more?

What about the neck can you not handle? I've never played a Ric, but absolutely love the 4004.
