MORE PHOTOS

The ONLY "ding" on the bass is the one shown in the photo on the right, next to the jack.

The photo on the left shows some ultra-fine swirling on the face of the bass (very diffilcult to see). It was invisible from more than 2 feet away and never bothered me, but I took it in to Jeff at Top Shelf today (Saturday April 30th) and they have been 99.9% buffed out. The top is now a 9.9 of 10 and I am a harsh critic.

ONE MORE PHOTO

This is a close-up side angle and the faint swirling is not even visible.

As of Saturday April 30th, the almost imperceptible swirling is gone - it's been professionally buffed out and polished.

THANKS FOR LOOKING.

It is indeed an ebony board, though not as dark as gaboon.

Did you try USPS? When I ship to Alaska they are always the cheapest.

I thought USPS restriction was on length + girth cannot exceed 108". A boxed Cirrus should be roughly 9 x 18 x 52, at the most. That maths out to 106".

I have shipped Cirrus-sized basses before via USPS with no trouble.

Cirri hard cases seem to be larger in both depth and length than most other hard cases.

I thought I was safe from GAS when this was sold before I saw the thread. I really don't need another bass, but this one is so tempting.

Cirrus

It's cool. The seller went through great lengths to find a reasonable shipping option. It's all good and was a pleasant guy to deal with.

Thank you for all the kind words. I have new information!

Okay, based on StuartV's formula and knowing that a standard Cirrus shipping carton was too big for USPS, I went to my main local source for gear and found a shipping carton for a Korg Tritan - I made sure that the cirrus case fits inside and still allows room for padding. I then went to USPS with the carton (TWICE! Because they apparently have banker's hours and don't open 'til 10am) and I have found that the new carton is within their shipping dimensions - BY 1/4 INCH!

The clerk initially measured where the box top was doubled up and said that it was too big...it was only 1/2 inch over. I asked "Is USPS really that strict?" and the clerk stated "It depends who you get, but usually yes". She remeasured where the box wasn't doubled and it's all good.

The first opportunity for purchase MUST go to Benthughes, as he has made a previous offer to purchase which was only killed by the insane shipping fees of UPS.

I'll update this ad as soon as Ben contacts me.

Thanks for looking.

Mac

You just became a TB Gold Star Seller +100.

I always make it a point to ship NLT the next business day. Let's hear it for sellers that go the extra mile because they have the golden rule stamped on their heart and in their head!
