All us Warwick lovers know this bass. This is (IMO) the absolute epitome of the Warwick tone and my absolute DREAM bass! This particular Stage 2 was made in 2004 and is all stock minus a Brass Just-a-nut 1 that was installed about a year ago by Greg @ Rocket Music in Blacksburg, VA.
To tell everyone the truth, the bass is incredibly solid and responsive but does have it's fair share of imperfections. There are a handful of minor nicks here and there, none of which stand out, but the more serious flaws are pitting in the hardware from sweaty hands, some pitting in the frets, some minor wear above the neck pickup in the body of the bass, some minor scratchiness in the volume POT, and a pretty major area of damage near the input jack caused by a Warwick flight case. I say serious, but to be honest with you, it's not noticeable while strapped on to the player, or the audience. I forget it's there until I take the time to wax the body down.
Anyway, I wanted to mention these items to make sure there were absolutely NO surprises down the road for any potential buyers! The bass is great and I bought it knowing it had these issues which I was completely fine with! Lord knows how terrible I would have felt putting the first ding on such an expensive, pretty instrument!
My main reason for sale is that the string spacing is slightly too tight for my big man hands =P I am in love with the tone of this thing and totally intend to replace it with a 4 string version!
So with that said, the only (and I mean ONLY!!) trade I would consider is for a 4 string Streamer Stage 2! Other than that, I'm looking for $1450 plus shipping. I have a little more than $1500 into the bass, and while I'm certainly not looking to make any money, I would like to get as much money back from it. So for that reason, I'm going to say that for now, I'm firm on my asking price. The bass will be shipped in a Warwick gig bag and will be well packed, so the buyer will have nothing to worry about as far as that goes.
I have to get updated pics which I will do at some point this weekend, but for now, here's a low quality pic proving the bass is real!
Here's some info from the Warwick site:
Streamer Stage II
The Streamer Stage II features an elegantly contoured body made of African Afzelia wood. It has an arched top and an ergonomically recessed back. The slim neck-through design - invisible from the front - is recessed into the body.
Neck and body are perfectly balanced to ensure an optimum playing position and superb playing comfort. Clarity and transparency are undoubtedly the most striking tonal characteristics of the Streamer Stage II. Dry, fundamental notes and a well-located, lower mid-range is the Warwick prescription to cure sound frustration.
The Streamer Stage II is also a favorite for its instant response, growling mid-range, sparkling treble and cellar-deep bass.
