It's a universal question. We all ask it at one time or another in our lives...
"What is the best bass for metal?"
Well, here's your answer.
Enter, the Warlock...
From the dark recesses of my spare bedroom closet comes a beast that few have the power to tame. Born in darkness, this blood-red harbinger of deep metal riffs is not an axe for the faint of heart. Are you the one who can ride this apocalyptic steed to the gates of metal glory? Are your fingers shredding harmonic minors on air bass yet? They should be!
So here's the deal. I don't use this bass, but for sentimental reasons I won't sell this bass... you see the dilemma. I've decided instead that the only way to get this bass into hands more metal than my own is to put this bass up for adoption via trade. I'll be entertaining any and all musical trade ideas but I will tip my cards enough to say I'd be particularly partial to something fretless.
Problem is that a thread full of "PMd" and "PM responded" gets boring real fast, so each trade offer must come with at least a paragraph post in this thread describing why you are metal enough to wield this monster.
(There is one blemish on the bass that I should note. on the tip of the headstock it looks like the finish cracked and so some previous owner decided to paint it red to match. Unfortunately, this "luthier" was not a very accomplished artist, but on the other hand, it does give the "tip dipped in blood" effect)
Shipping will depend on the trade. (i.e. If it's a bass for bass trade we each pay our own, if it's a bass for pedal, then we'll split the shipping or work something out) I'll keep this thread rolling until New Years Eve unless I get an offer that is too good to refuse.
So, let the games begin... |

You wouldn't happen to have something a little less pointy in that magic closet of yours would you?

Possible trade options:
bass body with traditional Fender neck pocket
fender style tuning keys
reverb pedal |

1) come pick it up
2) write an awesome post for this thread
And just in case you're on the fence, this bass came from West Virginia so it has two other things going for it. First it may have common lineage with the Mothman, and second it has a Jesco White bumper sticker on the case that says, and I quote, " I got a double super buzz" alongside Jesco's likeness. |

He's friends with my 12 year old son and we have him stay over quite often. I do know his mom lives in town but have never seen one of his parents attend a game of his, football, wrestling, basketball, nothing.
He does have one thing going for him: His voice and he sings like an angel in the school choir. It would be great to add to that and help build his confidence.
I'm no Sean Tuohy but if I was... |

I can also throw in some old strings and an Aguilar Tone Hammer box.
To sweeten this deal a bit, I can also throw in some non-bass related items such as an old pair of shoes, a twinkie, a reader's digest from last year, some bent nails, a few scraps of wood, and a cat.
Let me know bro

Oh man, the tonehammer box and the cat almost put you over the top but I got a good offer via PM just before I read that, so I think the Warlock has found a new home.
I'm going to go ahead and say there's a trade deal in the works. |
