I bought this back in November and absolutely love the tone, however it's not comfortable for me to play. I'm a big guy and the lack of contour on the small body was hurting my forearm.
This is in new condition. I took the pickguard off, put a set of "new" Maxima/Rickenbacker short-scale flatwounds on it (got these strings from a guy on the RickResource forum who had a bunch of sets in packaging from the early 70's, never used). They feel, and sound a lot like Pyramid flats, if you're familiar with those. I also swapped out the stock knobs for the "teacup" ones. I also put Dunlop straplocks on. I also took off the "Contemporary Series" writing on the truss rod cover. It looks great. No damage to the TRC finish. I have all the parts including the factory rounds that will be included with any trade. Also, the hardshell case is included which is also in new condition.
If you're looking for old-school thump or want to get your McCartney tone on, this is for you.
As for trades, I'm open to other short-scale basses, USA Peaveys (Millenium), Epiphone Casady, or other basses of similar value. I don't have any extra cash to trade up.
