F/T Modulus Genesis Maple Fretboard with Nordy's

Sign in to disble this ad
Hi Gang,
I have a Modulus Genesis bass, that I enjoy quite a bit, but I'm still looking for a comparable quality 5 string ash body maple neck, maple fretboard combo.

Here are the specs:
- 5 string ( this is not the VJ line, this is from 2005 )
- Alder body
- flamed maple top
- alder neck with composite graphite spine and underneath fretboard
- birdseye maple fretboard
- Nordstand hum canceling singles
- Bartolini NTMB preamp 5 knob configuration.
- flat D neck profile
- 19mm spacing
- wide but comfortable neck

It has some minor wear and needs a fret job— though there is ZERO fret buzz.

I'll post pics this evening.

Thanks for looking!

Check out a soundclip of this bass in action. Here's a final take (sans eventual percussion overdubs) of my trio's song "Poor Haiti" from our upcoming CD, Proprietary Moments.

These are great basses. Really underrated. I owned one and it is easily on par with Sadowsky, Low End and Nordy. Great bass! Someone needs to get this!!

These basses are excellent. They don't have that that characteristic Moddy "hollow" thump that the graphite necks exhibit.
What they do have is classic Jazz tone (which can get quite aggressive), top quality craftsmanship, and a neck that holds as steady as a Spartan battle formation.

Selling price

I'm on the fence as far as an outright sale because I haven't seen anything that trips my fancy that I could afford. But since you're asking:

$1400 + shipping

and it ships with a hardshell case.

Thanks for asking!

Bartolini NTMB

volume
pan
bass
mid
treble

Many similar models have a stacked knob with a total of 4 knobs. This one doesn't and so has 5.

Here's another link to the bass in action:

Bump for Lincoln and this sweet bass!
I recorded all my fretted parts with my Genesis ( same general options and barts )

Click the link in my sig to hear it recorded in a band setting. The engineers were floored with the quality of this bass. My signal chain was: Genesis-Avalon-Mixer and a second send Genesis-Mixer. Half of the tracks were without the Avalon.

Good luck with the sale. I'd take this over any modern Jazz bass hands down.
