I found something I HAVE to have,so GAS-priced at
$375 shipped, con US.. Neck will be removed to save on shipping, but fear not,I package for air-drop!
Let's start with the BAD-- It's 12.2 on my digital, and I ain't gettin any younger! The only other thing worth mentioning is the frets could use a re-crown.It still plays and sets up just fine, but it's been played for 20+ yrs..
Now the GOOD--
'83 Warmoth J body,dense,tight grained maple
'85 AllParts P neck,maple/rosewood,1 5/8"nut,thinner profile, various tiny dings on backside treble edge of headstock
mid '70s Fender tuners, light tarnish, work as they should
Kent Armstrong handwound p'ups, hot and dead silent
Ken Smith IV high mass bridge,top-loading,heavier than a badass
3ply Red Tort guard, siliconed on because I didn't want to put holes in the body,as it has never had a pickguard
The plate/pots/knobs came with the bass,I was told they came from the 70's Fen. jazz that donated the tuners, don't know, but they work perfectly well
Attachment 226345
It plays and sounds great, and looks killer. The refin was done by me on a slow day at the shop. The body is 100%,with NO ACTUAL DAMAGE..the relic'ing is in the paint only, and sprayed with a semi-gloss laq. clearcoat. It's all smooth to the touch, with no hard edged chips, dings,or exposed wood
PICS--
