It is definitely a player's bass; it came to me pre-loved, and I have taken good care of it since then. It does have some wear, but on the plus side, you can take it to the gig. . I have tried to show all the wear. The neck and frets are in good shape.
Ash/maple; maple fingerboard; approx. 10.5 lbs (not exact). 19 mm spacing. The bass sounds great in both active and passive mode; just curious about other options.
With regards to trades, I am looking for an Fbass BN5 or BN6 with an ebony board; up graded tops get preferential treatment. I would also consider an Adam Nitti Warrior AN6 (long shot), or possibly an MTD 535 or 635. Push cash as appropriate.

color. Lastly, there is a unknown signature on the back of the headstock. The signature is Marcus Miller's; pretty cool.

I am located in Austin, TX. I could be interested in a sale; however, this is my only bass, so I would need to replace it pronto. I (ideally) would want to line up another TB purchase if I sold this one. Hope this helps.
Blessings,

Also, that signature on the back of the headstock is Marcus Miller's. I met him while I was going to school at Berklee. If I had room for another bass right now I'd be interested in reacquiring it.
Good luck! |

Good luck! | Thanks for the love! I really dig how it sounds; my inquiry into one with an ebony board is more about feel than anything else. I'm very please with the sound; in fact, a fellow bassist at church bought a new FBass after playing mine. And thanks for the signature reveal; I've often tried to figure out who signed it! Ha.

The one difference from my new BN5 and Jared's, besides the color, is that his neck profile feels slimmer than mine. It's comfortably thin! not weird thin. For those wanting 19mm spacing with a not so FAT neck this is the bass for you! Jared is outstanding bassist and musician, but above all he's an honest compadre. Someone will be getting a great gigging bass. |

Nice clip, too! Man that B string just smokes. I haven't played an F Bass that didn't have a great B string.
I would think long and hard before trading your BN5 for anything other than another F Bass. And I'm not 100% sure that you will get a whole lot better tone by going for a Mac Ebony board. I do love my BN5 with the ebony board but I'm not convinced that is changes the tonality that much. Just my 2 cents for what that is worth.

It's more a feel thing than a sound thing. I'm not expecting mass tonal changes. Whats that you say? You said you're wanting to sell your BN5? Haha. I priced out a new build F Bass the other day. Price with options I want? 6k! Ha.
