FBass BN6F Fretless, Neck thru, w/18mm Spacing
 

Love this bass. Tonally speaking the best fretless I've owned, including Renaissance/MTD/Modulus/Pedulla Pentabuzz. The amount of variance with only your attack/hand position is huge, to the point where a heavy handed player would have to spend a while to tamper their attack. The amount of the coveted 'mwah' that's in this bass makes it better suited to someone with a light right hand.

Only reason I'm selling is that for my preferences the 18mm spacing feels awkward after switching on stage from my 19mm Sadowsky Metro UV5 and that the upper horn on these basses is longer so that the first position and nut of the bass are closer to your body. For me, playing in the middle of the neck and having my left arm closer to my body was awkward. First position playing felt super comfortable though.

3Band pre with active/passive switch but NO hum bucker mode. I believe this is set as single coil.

I bought this bass used from George F about two months ago. He had it selling for just under $3300 as a completely passive bass. I sent $500 to have a preamp put in and another $150 in shipping.

Bass has an ALDER body.

And it does have 18mm spacing, even though the below ad lists otherwise

It's listed as 19mm but George emailed me to make sure I would still want it if it were 18mm. It measures, from center string to center string exactly 23/32nds on my machinist's ruler, which is 18mm.



Nut width is 2.093" on this bass, and on normal FBass BN6's they are typically measuring in at 2.125".

Reasons for Selling:

1) Realized that the ergonomics and tone of Roger Sadowsky's Basses are perfect for me, and that I just need to quit $%&*'ing around with other brands.

2) I have a rather unique Sadowsky Fretless on order with Roger and Co and the sale of this bass needs to pay for it.

That is IT. Otherwise this is the best fretless I've ever laid my hands on, including Rick Turner/Modulus/Roscoe/Fender/MTD/Smith/etc. Working on some clips. Dusting off my fretless chops before I embarass myself.

I have almost this exact same bass and it kills! Hands down the best fretless that I have ever played, and I have played a lot. Whoever gets this will not be sorry. Sweet tone and plays like hot melted butter in the southern summer sun ....

Thanks man! And I see from your gear list that you're WELL qualified to give an opinion. Bet that bass room would be fun to hang out in. In regards to this bass, I really wish it was a 5 string. I just can't get down with the C-string on any fretless, and for the love of all things GAS I've finally come to terms with this after 3 occasions.

Couldn't bear to do it! It sounds so damn good as is. If only I wasn't such a nerd when it comes to ergonomics. I've learned my lesson: if it isn't 34" scale with 19mm spacing, DON"T BUY IT!!!!!
