FBB Custom #19 4 string fretted $700 shipped

Well, I'm finally going to do it. I've had this bass since I was a Sophomore in High School (2002!). It was one of the earlier basses Matt Schmill made, when he was still in western Mass. Its got a great, small body sized (about the size of a Warwick Thumb). Here are the specs:
-34" scale, Cocobolo fretboard, 4-string fretted
-Bartolini split-coil 9J pickups
-Bartolini NTBT 2-band active EQ
-Active/passive switch
-Volume/Pickup pan/Bass/Treble knobs
-Gotoh 201 bridge, string-thru body, Gotoh tuners
-Matched Black Walnut top on a Poplar core
-5 piece neck-thru-body of maple-purpleheart-maple-purpleheart-maple

I love this bass. Its got a real snappy, punchy tone, great for funk and prog rock, but you can dial in some thump by backing off the treble. I've been playing my fender-style basses almost exclusively for a while now, so I think its time for it to go to a good, loving home! Its all hand-made, and the craftsmanship is top-notch (do a search for FBB or Matt Schmill and you'll read the great reviews of his work!) Its currently strung with Medium-light Hi-beams, which fit its personality well, I think. Here are some older pics of it, before the active/passive switch was installed (by Matt, not me!) Let me know if you have any questions, let me know. I'm not looking for any trades, unless its a Hartke LH500 + cash on your end. Price is $700 shipped

+1 for an awesome FBB. Seriously, these things are awesome - I got mine for a similar price, and once I actually got it, I would have paid 2-3 times more.

Whoever gets this will be in for a treat - I almost made the mistake of selling mine, which I don't think I'll do again.

I remember this one from his site years ago, looks great!
Questions please:
weight, nut width, string spacing at bridge, neck profile, fingerboard radius if possible..

Off the top of my head, I'd guess weigh at ~7 lbs, I know the nut width is 1.5", and string spacing is similar to a fender jazz. The neck profile is a D shape, a bit chunkier than a Jazz bass. Not sure on the radius, but it seems flatter than a Jazz.

ah, tempting- I'd jump on that for sure if I hadn't just bought a similar 4-stringer off ebay recently and have a fretless commission going...

I'll weight her tonight, but my best guess is 7.5 lbs +/- .3 lbs. She is quite light; very easy on the back!

I've owned two FBB's and they are some of the best out there in my opinion. If you get this, you won't be disappointed.

Not that you need any more glowing confirmations, but I own #20 (a fretless 6) that is set up almost exactly like this except for a curly maple/african mahogony body. Easily the most excellent bass I have ever owned, along with my FBB 7 string fretted right behind it ....

And at that price, it's a crazy deal. If I played 4's at all it would be gone already ......
