Thumbs up Feedback Thread - Peavey Millennium BXP (sleeper early Indonesian)

I've been meaning to post for a while to thank MNAirHead for hooking me up with a great "budget jazz bass." I know - no pics, no bass, but I realized I was never going to post if I kept waiting on taking some photos. It looks like this in trans blue.

I really was not expecting a whole lot for a bass that Tim passed on for $130 plus new strings, shipping, and a gig bag. But he kept telling me how nice this bass was...

My first impression was - "Wow, this thing has a killer neck!" A bit thinner than my USA Milly 4 Plus, 34 inch scale, and very easy to play. My understanding is that this was an early run Indonesian model and there was probably a greater level of QC from US engineers. I would guess that more work was done by hand on this than the later models, but I don't know for sure. Fit and finish are very nice. Perhaps my only nitpick would be some slightly sharp fret edges, but I think that's almost expected for an import bass at this price point.

The bass sounds really great too! Hot passive pickups produce a really nice tone. I was looking for a cheap passive jazz type setup and this fit the bill perfectly.

Tim, thanks again for the bass, as well as the excellent setup. I love the nice low action -- forcing me to play with a lighter touch!

A+ for my dealings with Tim. He's knowledgeable, generous, and I appreciate his contributions to the TB community. I wouldn't hesitate to do business with him again in the future. And he's an air-cooled freak taboot!
