i have a 2001 Fender USA Hot Rod P-Bass Sunset Orange that im going to have to part with......
this bass plays and sounds amazing!
really great bass here and on a scale of 1 to 10 id rate it at a high 7 only because it has some battle scares small scratches and buckle rash on the back. none are to the wood just clear coat scratches. I replaced the pick guard with a fender black one. i no longer have the org tort one that came on it.
it also has a crack about an inch long on the headstock that comes out of the E string slot on the tuning machine hole
(see photos). it does NOT go all the way through the head stock, only on the out side of the headstock. the black lines on the inside of the hole are NOT cracks, they are builder refrence marks. i dont know how it happened it was like that when i bought the bass about 6 years ago. it dosent effect the playability or tuning of the bass in any way. ive had it looked at by a few instrument makers, luthiers and they all said its nothing to worry about. i was super worried at first when i got the bass but it has never once given me any trouble at all and holds tune with no issues.
i had the frets replaced with stainless steel frets (you will never need a fret dressing agin for the life of the bass. professionally done by a local luthier here in Va (Kenny Marshall). you would never know the difference unless i told you. it is a superb fret replacement.
all parts are org other than the the frets, pick guard and the drop-D hipshot. i have the org tuner from the E string slot and it will be included with the sale.
It needs strap buttons. i cant find them.
the clear finish on this bass hard and very CRISP and clear.
weight is about 9.5lbs on my scale.
neck is in good working order! it plays fast & excellent!
i have seen these sell for all kinds of prices. i paid $700 for it
6 ago and added the frets ($200) hipshot ($40) and pick guard ($30).
anyone interested in the really great bass please contact me with offers. id rather sell it on here than e-bay.
no trades needed at this time.
$600 w/org fender hard case. shipping? id say $60.
but if i over charge for shipping i will refund the diffrence.
