FEELER - '99 Peavey Cirrus 4 walnut / wenge

This has been a dream bass for me - I spent a lot of time waiting for one to come up for sale. It's a '99 Peavey Cirrus 4 string walnut / wenge.

Plays and sounds as a Cirrus should.

I had DR Lowriders on it and the top end of each note was soft, round, and warm. I now have DR Blackbeauties, and it's just not as warm anymore. It still sounds AWESOME, though.

Here's my dilemma - I am keeping my '99 walnut / bubinga and and my '02 alder / maple. I'm always up for collecting another desirable Cirrus. I like the "springy/farty" sound of my bubinga a little better, so I may have to give this one up to fund another bass that I have my eye on.

This bass has personality - translates to road worn. What's with this new generation of kids who want mint used gear ? This is not mint, but it's not beat up at all. Some pick marks from the last owner. It plays and sounds great. It's a Cirrus.

IF I sell it, it's got to be $950 shipped. It's a rarity, so the price is fair.

Let me know - Mike

------------ IF it sells , I am putting the ORIGINAL knobs back on --------------------------------------------------

whoa bump for a gr8 guy and one helluva TB'er !!! Michael is fair w his pricing this guy goes over these Cirruses w a fine tooth comb irons all the bugs out (if there are any) and passes on a bass that plays like butter. His setup of these basses is meticulous. Action is very nice it's low you can lower the action on a Cirrus to the point of matchbook-cover thin to the frets if you wanted w/o buzzing anywhere on the bass.

Hi Lanis ! Thanks for the kind words earlier. Yes, I have these knobs on all of my USA Cirrus basses. I love 'em.

---- UPDATE --------

Well, I just used THIS bass on our last CD and the engineer loved the tone, as did I. As I said, it was a "feeler" thread.

I am keeping this Cirrus and closing the thread. See you guys at the USA Peavey Cirrus owner's club thread right around the corner from here

- Mike B.
