Feeler....F/S, F/T The Funk Machine

Sign in to disble this ad
Here is my beloved Funk Machine. I want to try something else. This bass has served me well but I think it's time to move it.

I received this bass in a trade. It's origins are somewhat of a mystery as the previous owner didn't know it's origins either. It is NOT a Fender Jazz. It is a parts bass. I thought it was from Warmoth parts but several 'experts' say they don't look like Warmoth parts. Anyway, here are the parameters.

Maple neck w/Ebony fretboard with no markers.
Black Schaller tuners
Black Baddass Bridge
Black control plate with V/V/T
Active Seymour Duncan Pro Active pups with dip switches for mid cut/boost and db cut/boost
Battery (9V) compartment in the back
Fender logo on headstock.
Ships w/soft case, instrument cable and I'll put new strings on.

Disclosure: There is a small chip in the finish on the back corner that was there when I received the bass. I'll take some more pics tonight and post them.

Trades I'm looking for are for a Sterling by Musicman SB14 or small lightweight 4ohm 1x15, 1x12 or 1x10 cab w/tweeter! Outright sale $400 obo.

Could be camera angle and flash anomolies but your guess is as good as mine. I've had no issues ever playing this bass. Been through at least 50-60 gigs with it. I'll take some more pics tonight. Those pics are about a year old.

Yup. I see it too. In two different shots so it's unlikely it's the camera angle.

It's fret 17. It looks too far back (actually, 16 might be a little forward also). Are the notes flat on that (17) fret?

Hmmm...I never noticed. Will check in the morning.

Here's a download link to pics I just took including a better look at those frets and the nick in the back. https://www.yousendit.com/download/M...a0RlM1IzZUE9PQ

Ok folks. I'm pulling the ad!!

I'm going to pull the ad and close the thread. Many folks have spotted an issue with the neck and I won't feel right selling a bass with issues. I have gigged the bass quite a lot and have had no issues with playability or tuning. But I'm just a bass player who plays basses. I know nothing about how necks are built! I'm thinking of buying a new neck at some point and will try to sell it then!!

Thanks!
