Heres' the skinny. I'm on the fence about selling this. Have been for two years. It's been a main player and it VERY light. Custom neck reshape by "The Repair Zone" in San Diego and refin by Marty Bell. This custom reshape tapers *perfectly* down to the nut new nut width of 1.75". (stock width is 1.81) This plays as good as the following basses I have owned and sold, MTD 535, MTD Grendel, two Sadowsky Metros and two FBass BN5's. Why am I selling? I've got a new Warmoth that I customized even closer to my dream specs.

This bass has the stock 18V system with the highly acclaimed Samarium Cobalt pickups.

Alder body pau ferro fretboard maple neck. If Ash= solid state this bass sounds tubey warm fat and punchy.

If I did not have a bunch of basses, this would stay. But someone should play it. It's a special instrument and I'm nuts to post this. Price is $1250 shipped. Firm. No trades thanks, all offers will be politely ignored.

What kind of character do those pickups give the bass? A vintage sound or more modern? Also are you willing to price drop at all?

The Fender SCN pickups are versatile. The Pre-amp set flat gives a fairly neutral tone that could pass for Vintage, Boost the treble and you have a sizzling highs that produce a good slap tone. If you turn the treble down all the way it rolls off just enough of the highs to sound very vintage but without sounding dull if that makes any sense. The slope on the roll-off is very steep, so it preserves the high mids. It's a great design. Feel free to PM me for any other questions especially related to price, shipping, etc.
