Feeler Ken Smith Burner 5 string!

Sign in to disble this ad
Hello There,

This here is a Ken Smith Burner 5 string! Ash body, maple neck, rosewood board. Two jazz pickups as you can see in the pics. Preamp is 9volt with 1 volume, balance, stacked bass/treble, 2 push pull selectable mids. Also volume has push pull for active/passive. Nice bass! String spacing is a little tight for me though, so hoping someone else might enjoy it better. Feel free to ask for more pictures and any questions with PM. I am just putting it out there to see maybe if someone would like it. If so I can sell it for $1,000. However feel free to send me an offer. Never know I might go for it. As for the pic: I have the truss rod cover. Just took it off for a slight adjustment, and had not put it back on yet.
BASS NOW $850!!
Enjoy,

Eric Runquist

Can you clear up the Pre comment stated above? I'm very interested in getting my hands on a Ken Smith...but would prefer it stock as I really want that Ken Smith tone...

Sorry for the confusion. I was just stating what the controls do. It is a Ken Smith Pre. Sounds just like a Ken Smith.

This bass very much has the Ken Smith tone. I am not the first owner of this bass. Believe me it is a Smith all the way as far as tone.

Thanks

I measured with my Caliper and it came out to 16mm. I think it is called a 16.5mm bridge though. Like the one that Hadrien Feraud plays.

Its really not unrully to play. The small spacing is rather nice. Its just when I went back to play my Fodera it was a little weird. My next Fodera is going to have smaller string spacing 0,o and will be here in April! WOOOOOOOT

How's the action on this? Do you have any more pics...of the back or anything more detailed? Do you know what year it is?

Sold just pending payment.
The action is nice. I just put new strings and did a nice low setup. From my experience of traveling if the bass goes to the east coast you would need to loosen the truss rod. I live in las Vegas and most of my gigs are on the east coast. From bone dry and warmer climate to humid and colder the neck always moves slightly. Well have not had that experience with this bass yet since I have not had it that long. Just bought this to see how I would like a tighter stringed bass.
When I get to my comp I will try to put more pics as I am on my phone ATM.
Bass is sold/being held for payment for now.
Thanks :-)

Hey thanks! The bass does have a nice grain! It is two peices of ash. No blemishes to speak of, just normal wear for an instrument that was made or sold in 92. I wish I had a better camera.... not sure if my phone counts as one.
Thanks for looking!
Still for sale!!!

Hadrien is a very fine example of a burner user. Seems like he is bringing it back. BTW I am going with the same dealer(F Clef) as Hadrien's father used to get his Fodera to get my Fodera.
Still for sale!
Eric
