Okay, I'm definitely on the fence about this one but I want to test the waters out. I'm considering offering up my Sadowsky NYC Standard 5 for trade. The ONLY trade offers I will entertain are for MTD 535s - preferably 21 fretters. I'm really not interested in anything else at this point. By the way, I live in Montreal, Canada (just in case that's an issue for anyone).

I'm the original owner of this bass. It has seen a total of five gigs and is in the same condition as when I received it new from the shop. Having said that, it arrived with a small ding near the input jack and a very small crack in the lacquer where the neck joins the body. I spoke with Kevin (at Sadowsky) over the phone about both of these issues. He assured me that the small crack was most likely the result of the tight-fitting neck pocket and he deducted a bit of money for the ding at the jack. Both of these "surface blemishes" are inconsequential as far as I'm concerned, but I'm mentioning them for the sake of full disclosure (I will take some pictures later and see if anything shows up on film!). Other than what I've just mentioned, everything about this bass is as it should be: the response across the fingerboard is very even (and I'm pretty sensitive to dead spots) and the neck is straight as an arrow. Furthermore, the top on this bass is absolutely one-of-a-kind. I've never seen a maple burl top like it and, honestly, the look of this bass is one of the reasons I've been holding onto it. My reason for considering letting this one go is simply that I'm not as comfortable on it physically as I'd like to be. For me, MTDs are "home".
So, let's see what you've got!
