I'm skeptical if I really want to let this one go or not. It's sort of an ugly duckling that I felt sorry for and bought knowing I could give it the TLC it needed.

I'll start with the bad knowing that's what most want to hear about: there is considerable damage to the body. It looks like someone used this bass as a weapon and it has plenty of battle wounds better documented in the photos below. Most go through the finish into the wood but are fortunately located on the side or back of the bass. There's some chipped paint on the top of the headstock too. And last, there's some fret buzz when you fret a note on the 15th fret of the A string. The 9th frets on the A and D string buzz a little if you lower the action a bit too.

The good: The neck is straight and does not bow or twist. It feels solid and aside from a fret job or maybe even a PLEK, it's very playable and in good shape. The bridge and tuners are a little worn but solid and it stays in tune perfectly. One thing that's changed since the last time I posted it for sale is that I installed an EMG BQC preamp in it, but it will come with the Tone Pump as well.

PS...the photos show the truss rod cover missing - I took it off to set it up and snapped the pictures without realizing it was still off. It's back on there now and will be included in the sale.

Why am I selling? I just bought a Euro 5 string and am awaiting the arrival of the Aguilar Tone Hammer 500 amp and SL 112 cab.

I'm asking $700 or best offer with both preamps, $650 if you want it with just the Tone Pump only. Paypal and shipping included in the continuous 48 United States.

SOLD

What do you think is the cause of the frett buzz ? Did it buzz when it was strung EADG ?

Yeah, it's a shame and I'd love to know what the cause of the damage was! It did buzz when I had it set up EADG too. In every case it seems like the string is contacting the fret above it creating the buzz which makes me think those frets need to be reseated or need a leveling.
