Feeler: Status S2 5 String

Sign in to disble this ad
I've been on the fence about this for a while, but I figure I might as well test the waters.

I'm seriously considering selling my Status S2 5 string. Here are the details:

- Headed, "through-neck"
- 35" scale
- Two-piece mahogany body with walnut top
- Standard 19mm spacing
- Red accent line
- Status pickups and electronics (board 302)
- Schaller strap locks
- Original Hiscox HSC included.

I ordered this bass from Rob Green at Status last year and received the bass this past spring. It is in excellent condition. The only thing worth mentioning (for the sake of full disclosure) is a slight amount of lacquer missing from where the fingerboard ends (Rob's basses have several coats of lacquer on them, and these go right up to the edge of the fingerboard and nut). This is a very minor detail but I thought I'd mention it and include a photo (photo is below with the area in question "circled"). Otherwise, the bass is spotless and would pass for brand new. I paid $4000 CND plus $400 in taxes. Price drop - now asking $2850 Canadian.

So, this guy's driving down a country road when his car breaks down. After walking to a nearby farmhouse he knocks on the door and a woman answers...

The guy introduces himself and asks if he could please use the phone as his car has just broken down. The woman welcomes him in and explains that she and her family are just about to sit down for dinner. She asks the man if he would be interested in joining them after he has made his call. He gratefully accepts the offer...

So, after making his phone call to the local garage, this guy is sitting at the dinner table with the farmer, his wife and the rest of the family. They begin to eat and this guy notices a pig walk through the dining room...

"That's strange", the man thinks to himself. At this point he notices that the pig only has three legs. Although slightly puzzled by the sight of the pig in the dining room, the man says nothing and continues to eat his dinner. A few minutes later, the pig walks through the dining room again, shuffling along on its three little pig feet...

Wouldn't that be limping, not shuffling, or maybe even waltzing in 3/4?
BTW - love the bump alternative!!

The toggle switch is a mid-range cut/boost. The mid frequency being cut/boost is selected by the middle knob (on the bottom row of three).

This time, the man decides to ask about the curious animal. "Excuse me", he says, " but I couldn't help but notice that you have a pig wandering about the house...". "Oh yes", says the farmer's wife, "that's Cyril - he's a very special pig". "Sure is", adds the farmer. "This one time, the barn caught fire fire and Cyril came and woke me up - saved all the barnyard animals". "And another time", says the farmer's wife, "little Jimmy was swimming in the creek when he started to drown. Cyril rushed right on in and pulled Jimmy out - darn well saved his life!"...

Is this a 2 position or 3 position switch?

I guess you'd say it's three position. Centre is "flat", down is boost and up is cut (+/-5dB).

"Wow", that's really amazing", said the man, "But I have to ask, why does he only have three legs?". The farmer's wife looked at the man with a slightly puzzled expression on her face...
