Feeler What would you trade

What would you trade bass wise for a 2004 Stingray5 all original with just a couple dingsand an original hardshell case. Its the bass in my profile pic. Id like to find an awesome passive bass, as the active thing is really turning me off. Thats the reason I am thinking of parting with it. It plays great, but I cant find the tone.

Tough one. You can't get the sound you want just now.

If it's a good bass otherwise, your choice is to sell it, or if you can swing it, get another bass.
I've sold my MM's over the years, and have missed them. They looked good. They sound good. They played well enough. My shoulder did not miss them.

Dunno. If sound wise it's not working I don't know which aftermarket preamps would improve the tone, or really get you what you are looking for.

I'd guess somewhere between $1.1-1.4K, perhaps a bit more on a good week on the open market.

Best wishes on forward progress.

PS
Only place your band is playing I remember is Webers. Hope they are feeding you.

Yeah, Webers is great, they dont feed us though. I just cant get into the active thing. Ive actually taken the active stuff out ( Ive saved it all unharmed) and put a passive Seymour in it. It sounds ok now but it seems like such a waste to make that bass passive. It does play exellent though.

Clear detailed photo's always help. Include the original preamp. There's another non-stock Stingray around here right now that's experiencing "discomfort" because it's not stock.

Put it up... see what you get offered in trade. You don't 'have' to accept any offers.
