Fender 1955 CS Precision - $1,600 shipped.

Hi All,

Up for sale is a nice Fender Custom Shop 1955 Re-Issue Precision bass. The bass is lightly reliced and in very good condition. It includes the covers, certificate of authenticity, and the original G&G yellow tweed case, which is in like new condition. The bass weighs 9.0 pounds.

The bass hangs extremely well, feels very comfortable and has a great single coil tone- nice and deep. The neck is about 1-11/16 (1.69 inch) wide and is very comfortable to play. The guy I bought it from claims that the back of the neck was re-sprayed (with nitrocellulose, of course). It certainly feels smooth and fast.

I purchased this on something of an impulse, partially because I got a great deal on it. An opportunity I thought I had missed has since re-appeared so now I need to move this instrument. My asking price is $1,600 shipped in the continental US. That is exactly what I have in the bass. Paypal is preferred. It seems unlikely that you will find a real Fender Custom Shop for that price anywhere else.

I am not really looking for trades, but can be distracted by shiny objects. If you have something with frets and four strings you want to run by me, feel free.

The attached pictures should give you a pretty good idea of the condition, the links have more and higher resolution images.

PM me if you are interested or have any questions.

Cheers,

Russ

It's an '03

Butler,

The COA has a date of 05/20/2003. It is indeed all original, except perhaps the finish on the back of the neck.

Cheers,

Russ
