FENDER 1991 '62 Reissue Precision - Aged Oly White, True Relic

Sign in to disble this ad
TRADED!

Got this in a trade and while it's super cool, not a P-Bass kinda guy. 1991 Fender 1962 Reissue P-Bass - was originally Olympic White and has naturally aged to creamy yellow. This bass was so funky when I got it, the fur from the case was stuck to it when I pulled it out! Sticky icky...ooo wee.

Got all of it off, cleaned it up (oiled/waxed the board, got all the crud off the body, sprayed the electronics, set it up w/new strings). Popped the neck off and the dates match (Jul 1991), can't read the pot codes due to solder blobs, but they're US CTS (137XXXXX) cloth wiring, orange drop cap, etc. Back of the neck is perfect, frets are in excellent shape with no grooves or flat spots. Lots of honest player wear but plays and sounds beautiful. Roll the tone down and it's thump heaven. Comes with a rectangular molded Fender bass case.

SELLING FOR $1000 shipped in the US. International shipping is no problem, just PM me for a quote.

19 years of sweat, cigarette smoke and cat pheromone, according to the guy I got it from. Apparently the original owner was a chain smoker who died in his apartment - was dead for two weeks before neighbors called cops. His two cats were in there with him for two weeks.

You'll be selling your grandma soon. That's a beauty.

(I'll keep an eye on the 'other stuff' thread.)

Grandma's already on the street...better have my money.
Kidding. But I do have a "restored" 68 P-Bass and 79 Stingray going up tomorrow...stay tuned.

Now if this was '90, we'd be talking. I'd love a bass from my birth year.

This baby is an absolute thing of beauty. Free bump for a ten on the funk-o-meter. Someone should snap her up quick.

Free bump for a cool bass and a cool TB'er.

I'd jump on this if I had a bit more extra cash to spare.

Was wondering when someone was going to ask! Smells fine now after cleaning off all the funk. Aired the case out for a week too.
