Fender 60th Anniversary Lined Fretless Jazz MIM -PRICE DROP to $325

Sign in to disble this ad
Price drop to $325 plus actual shipping

I'm changing my set-up around a little and going to more Precision width basses, making my 2006 Jazz fretless expendable.

The Good - It's finished in a gorgeous Midnight Wine with Black pickguard and has the "60th Anniversary" badge on the headstock. I've upgraded the bridge to a Gotoh 201 (I kept the stock vintage-style, so if you prefer that, I'll swap it back before shipping). It's strung with Chromes. The matching black pearloid knobs give it a nice, classy look, but I had to drill them out a bit to fit over the pot shafts. They are a bit off center, so they turn a little goofy, but totally functionally. It's strictly a cosmetic issue. I'll include the original black ones, which turn perfectly.

The Bad - It has an approximately 1 cm chip out of the paint on the front/side, on the bridge side of the waist offset, right about where my right arm covers. My wife bought me a set of sculpted metal figurines of a "band" and one of them fell onto my axe stand, hitting the body. I smoothed the chip edges to keep it from flaking further and sealed it with polyurethane, so the wood's no longer exposed. The photos were taken before the chip, so it's can only be seen in the last one. Obviously, it's all cosmetic, and doesn't effect the sound or playability, but needs to be mentioned.

Otherwise, no other dings, scratches or problems. Plays and sounds great...one of the better MIMs that I found after playing through a few. $350/OBO plus actual shipping from 85297.

Since I don't have a case, I'll ship it insured UPS with the neck removed, and super-cocooned in bubble wrap. I have found a hardshell case to ship it in, if you prefer. It's clasps are missing, but will offer good protection during shipping and can probably be repaired inexpensively. A good deal just got better!

I found a generic tolex hardshell case on Craigslist yesterday for $10, like I mentioned in the original post. It has a handle, but the clasps are missing and it stays closed with a pair of heavy duty rubber bands on each end. Total mojo.

I can now ship it with the neck unbolted, as I described above, or in this case...your choice. No additional charge.

Very close, and thanks for the offer, bassteban. Unfortunately, maple P-bass width is only half of my quest. I'm really looking for an unlined.

Ah- I see. Two strikes then- mine has a 1 1/2" nut. I wish I could snag the Jazz outright- that's a decent deal, but I am broke- happy hunting!

Sure. I was going to ship it separated so I could pack it better, but with a HSC, it should be fine. Just to be clear, the case is a beater with broken clasps. I got it for the shipping. Your choice.

Do you want the Gotoh bridge, or the original?

Yes, all passive.

I guess any responsible seller would have known the weight, should such a question arise...I guess I am not one. I'm just getting off-duty, so when I get home I'll do the old get on the scale holding the bass, then subtract thing...

I'll have that for you later this morning.
