Exclamation Fender 75RI Jazz Candy-Cola w HSC (G&G) +Extras MUST SEE!!!

Sign in to disble this ad
NO TRADES PLEASE!!!

Here is something you don't see often. A Fender 75RI (re-issue) in Candy-Cola (some call it old candy apple red) with a matching headstock. I believe that the matching headstock models are "non-export" and not many make it out of Japan.

Bass plays and sounds AMAZING! There are some significant extras and upgrades that are coming with this one.

Fender Custom Shop 60's Jazz pickups +/- $150 (these are NOT the cheaper "original 60's" pickups)
FenderŪ Products

I thought that the pickups were Fender Custom Shop 60's as that's what they appeared to be. The former owner posted that they are actually Peter Florance Voodoo Jazz pickups (handmade/wound). They sell for $190 a set new:
Peter Florance Voodoo Jazz Bass Pickups - $190

Hipshot Milled A style bridge +/- $111
4 string A style Bass Bridge > Store > Hipshot Products

Hipshot Bass Xtender +/- $95
BT2 > Store > Hipshot Products

Fender (G&G USA) Jazz bass case +/- $160
Fender Accessories Standard Jazz Bass Case, Black Tolex (Black Tolex) | Sweetwater.com

Other items:
Orange Drop cap
Dunlop Strap locks (guitar side only)
Original bridge (which is missing a few of the height adjusters)
Original Thumb rest (no screws)

Now the "bad" about the bass (it's not really that bad at all). As you can see, somebody drilled a little hole between the pickups (pictured). I have no idea why. Also, there was likely a pre-amp in her at some point as there is a mounting plate on the bottom edge (also pictured). There are a few very minor scruffs on the bass. I have not noticed a ding, but it's possible.

I typically see these sell here and on eBay for $700 - $800 and that's for the regular versions with no extras (not a non-export w matching headstock like this one) and those don't have over $500 in extras/upgrades!

This one is going out my door for just $975 (or best offer!) with all of the extras and upgrades. Please don't even ask "how much without the case or drop D tuner", etc. It's a package deal and if you don't want some of the parts, you can sell them off yourself. What you see is what you get. I don't have the original tuner from where the Hipshot tuner now is.

She looks great and plays great. No issues. Sick-a$$ bass for sure! I don't foresee this being here long, so step-up now or this will be on eBay in a day or two at a higher price (if it lasts that long)!

The extra screw hole between the pickups looks like it was for a thumbrest at one point. So it was modded for the input jack at the edge at one point? Just trying to see if I understand correctly.

Yes, it appears to have been modded for a side modded for a side input Jack in the past. Its a small route.

Is the route still there or has it been filled?

How much does it weigh?

Sorry about that. So many posts and I forgot to get back to these questions. Here are the answers.

1 - The route is still there. It's a professionally done route (very clean) and it does not go all of the way thru to the control cavity. There is a small, separate pilot hole for the wires for the input jack. It was done right.

2 - Weight on her is 9.85 lbs according to my postal scale.

Another thing to note which I just found out about and verified. I thought that the pickups were Fender Custom Shop 60's as that's what they appeared to be. The former owner posted that they are actually Peter Florance Voodoo Jazz pickups (handmade/wound). They sell for $190 a set new:

If I were looking for (yet another) jazz bass this one would be it. Love the red and rosewood with blocks. Matching headstock is icing on the cake. Great looking bass, good luck with the sale.
