Fender American Deluxe P Bass

Sign in to disble this ad
For Trade Feeler

I'm itching to try something new, so I'm putting this up to see what's out there. This is a 1997 Fender American Deluxe P-Bass in transparent blue with a maple board. Includes OHSC.

Beautiful bass as you can see...

There is one ding/scratch on the bottom of the bass (see pics). It's in an inconspicuous spot so it is hidden when you play.

As far as trades go, I'm interested in 4-string, fretted basses.

I've never owned a Musicman and I'd love to try one, particularly a Bongo or a Big Al.

If the right trade does not come along, I may be interested in selling. Let's see whatchya got!

**EDIT**
Not entirely sure on the trade value - I may have been shooting too high originally, I dunno. There's a new '97 on ebay for $1695 and I've seen sale prices ranging from $900-$1395 on similar models.
I am not overly concerned with the value as long as we're in the same ballpark.

A few trade interests:

USA Fender Jazz with a maple board

Big Al

Warwick

A Bongo would be ideal!!!

I'm a sucker for matching headstocks

Big Al is awesome! I played one at GC and its amazing. The feel and everything about it. It has REALLY high action though. Almost too much. Just though I'd give my opinion on it since your interested in one

Very nice bass. Hmm.. I have a American Jazz in metallic plum finish, in great condition, with maple neck. I'm fussy with my stuff, and just looking and thinking at that chip/scratch. I'm sure it could probably be fixed. Got to think some more........

It is gorgeous, and it's been my baby. I'll get some pix to you so you can at least check it out.

Can you tell me for sure, is that a Lacquer body finish, or the catalyzed poly finish?

I don't know. There may be some info about it on the Internet. I'm at work now but I will do some research later tonight and see what I can dig up.

I can't seem to find anything that would indicate the type of finish on a '97.

I'm working on those pix for you. Yes, I'm still very concerned about the finish type. I would be able to tell by close examination, but hard to explain. A good luthier can tell for sure if there are any nearby. I will try to search specs as well.
